The idea of psychological projection is that we project on others what we don’t like and hide in ourselves. (It’s a manifestation of our Shadow).
For example, if you’re easily irritated by rude people, that means that you’re likely rude yourself (maybe in a small way), but do not admit, or not allow yourself to be rude, and suppress that.
