๐ร Architect should keep the distance
Architects (when not part of the main development team) should balance at stepping in and keeping the distance from the development team.
Allow the team to get the experience. That will help the team enormously in the long term. Step in and rescue the project only when the potential harm outweigh the learning opportunity.
Questions
This does seem to contradict with the advice for architects to be โhands-onโ and do the coding (Software architects should continue coding to get the feedback)?
This is resolved in As an architect, allow the team to get the experience and learnโitโs not about keeping the distance but about allowing the team to learn. You can still work with the team but you can peek tasks that present less learning opportunities to the team.
