Unless you know your friends are target audience, shipping Alpha version to them is probably a bad idea.
They are likely not your target audience or not Innovators (re: Crossing the Chasm). The feedback you receive can be misleading (moving product in the wrong direction) or it can be no feedback at all (which could be demotivating and make you doubt your project—happened a lot to me).
It’s best to search for your target audience and deliver to them. It might take longer to develop and release which delays feedback, but it will be quality feedback.
