📝We verbalize/visualize thoughts to activate our brain “from outside”
We usually verbalize or visualize our thoughts (“internal voice”). My theory is that this happens to activate the language/image processing parts of our brain.
Supporting arguments
From Weinschenk2011: the visual cortex is more active when we’re imagining a thing than when we actually perceive it.
Q
What are the implications of this?
(?) This “design” helps to reuse our brain parts.
(?) Thoughts are generated by another part of our brain and they are very similar to outside dialog.
