📝Scheme is splitting into small and large languages
Many view R6RS as diverging from Scheme’s minimalist philosophy. Scheme steering committee recommended splitting the language into two: “large” modern programming language for programmers, and a “small” minimalist languages for researchers, educators, etc.
R7RS small defines the small language and is not a direct successor of R6RS.
