📝As a manager, you usually have more power than your reports
If you’re a manager/lead assigned from the outside, you always have more power than your reports and you shouldn’t pretend that you don’t. Doing so would be a dysfunctional theater.
It is possible to not have that extra authority though if you’re assigned from within. e.g. a temporary feature lead can be assigned from the team and be truly equal to the rest of the team.
